Trivial Pursuit 52

This is the official song of Indian Army's, 'Army Air Defence'* Corps.

( * The Corps changed its designation, from Air Defence Artillery to Army Air Defence, with effect from 18th April, 2005. )

The Lyrics of the Corps song, based on the role and ethos of Army Air Defence, have been penned by a famous Lyricist 'X'.

The Lyrics were set to music and composed to be sung like a chorus by a famous Music Director 'Y'.

About 'X' :

'X' was born in Rawalpindi. After the partition, he moved to Dehradun, along with his family.
To pursue his dream to make a career in films, he came to Mumbai in the 60's. Upon reaching Mumbai, he stayed at a hotel in Khar. The hotel was often attended by film personalities. One day at the hotel, he met the secretary of composer duo Shankar-Jaikishan and rendered some of his poems to him. The secretary got impressed with X's work and introduced him to the composer duo. Thus, 'X' got his first break in films. His first song was 'Geet Gaata Hoon Main' for the film 'Lal Patthar' (1971).

Besides Writing, 'X' is a Roller Skating and a Billiards enthusiast. For all his talent, 'X' has always kept a low profile throughout his career.

About 'Y' :

'Y' was born in Delhi to a family of jewellers. A Civil Engineer by profession, 'Y' was part of a band when he studied Engineering while at college in Delhi. In 1992, he left his family business and came to Mumbai to pursue a career in Music. In 1994, his businessman father sent his younger son to Mumbai, to accompany elder brother 'Y'.

'Y' and his younger brother both have made a mark for themselves and have had a decently successful career in Music.

  4. The Army Air Defence song is very melodious and well composed I am fortunate to be associated with Army Air Defence Military Band from 2001 to 2004. The song was already arranged for the Band before 2001, however when I was given the opportunity to sing Air Defence Song with the Military Band, I incorporate the "Celestial Sentinals", the Jazz Band of Army Air Defence for a fusion of Military and Jazz Band of AAD and rearranged for the Band. I always Cherish the same in my life.
